Community Development Coordinating Council
"For we walk by Faith, not by sight" (2 Cor. 5:7)
Heeding to the examples set by Jesus Christ, the Ecclesiastical Faculties Community Development Coordinating Council through the Apostolate Committee of the Theological Society is tangibly involved in uplifting the pastoral plight of the UST partner communities. Eventually, it also offers the future pastors and religious of the Church an avenue to grow beyond the classroom walls. This is anchored in the Extension Service and Pastoral Formation under the First Cycle of the STB Program.
In this Year of Faith, as the entire Catholic Church is called to rediscover the faith, joy and enthusiasm of the encounter with Christ, the Apostolate Committee of the Theological Society continues to remain faithful in search for truth through the dialogue of life and the active involvement to the pastoral, intellectual, social, temporal and spiritual welfare of the partner communities. Aside from our Sitio Malasa Apostolate (currently under the Phase-out Program), we are once again blessed with a new partner community in Sitio Lambakin, Marilao, Bulacan.
Currently, as mandated by the Simbahayan Office for Community Development, the Theological Society through the assistance of the Lambakin BEC is having a Community Profiling. The results of the said activity will be used to determine the projects and proposals that will be implemented in the community. Moreover, since TS is still new in the area, we opted to have Eucharistic Celebration, House Visitation & Blessing for the first semester. Limited it may be due to the availability of the Sunday schedule, we do hope and pray that through the celebration the Eucharist, we may be in communion with them. For this year, we also have the UST College of Nursing as our co-partner.
Looking at what lies ahead, the Ecclesiastical Faculty of Sacred Theology shares in this responsibility not only in the study of the catechism nor gaining greater understanding of the creed but also the commitment to intensify the witnessing of charity - Faith working through love (Gal. 5:6).
For Lambakin, Malasa and the Catholic Church, AMEN.
